At the Interfaith Food Center (IFC), we believe that everyone deserves nourishment, dignity, and hope. As a non-faith-based nonprofit 501(c)(3), we serve our neighbors in Whittier, La Mirada, and Santa Fe Springs by making sure no one faces hunger alone.
Our Story
IFC began in 1983 when local churches and synagogues noticed seniors in our community struggling to afford food while living on fixed incomes.
Wanting to help their neighbors, they created a small food program that served 30 local families. Their simple act of compassion became the foundation of who we are today.
Our Mission
To provide nutritious food to our neighbors in need in an environment that nurtures dignity and respect.
Value Statement
Interfaith Food Center is a community of compassionate people who believe that all people deserve access to nutritious food.
Vision Statement
We envision a community in which everyone has access to sufficient nutritious food.
Where We Are Now
Over the years, IFC has grown into one of California’s largest food pantries, now supporting more than 1,300 households every week.
From our 6,800-square-foot warehouse — complete with commercial refrigerators, freezers, and a walk-in cooler — we work hard to provide fresh, healthy food that families can count on.
Our Impact
Each year, we distribute over three million pounds of food to individuals and families facing tough times.
We rely on the support of the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, local markets, faith groups, community partners, and generous neighbors who share our belief in nourishing our community and providing hope.
We offer comfort. We offer dignity.
We offer hope. And we remind every person who comes through our doors that they are cared for — and never alone.
